Harrington's Breweries was founded in 1991 by John Harrington. John and his brewing team began experimenting with traditional beer styles that were less available in New Zealand. Twenty-six years later, after a site move to Christchurch, the range has grown to more than fifteen beers, including a range of ciders that are being enjoyed up and down the country.
Harrington's Breweries became the official beer and brewery for the feature film Netherwood. Filming for the locally made feature took place in North Canterbury in 2010 and featured some of New Zealand’s top acting, directing and production talent.
Working with John Harrington and hospitality entrepreneur Luke Dallow, it was a no-brainer to bring the owners of Harrington’s Breweries together with the film’s senior production team. It was a perfect fit for the Harrington’s brand, both in NZ and internationally. Great brand exposure and a fun experience for John Harrington and his team.
